An Alternative To Single-Use Plastic Bags

While a lot of plastic can be recycled, most of it never makes its way to the recycling bin - instead it ends up in landfills that pollute our waterways. Single-use plastic bags also have been the target of state bans and legislation as their negative impact becomes more and more evident. Cotton bags are designed to be reused until damage. Most cotton bags are easy to clean ,strong and durable. As the demand for sustainable alternatives to plastics grows, we at Sackhumvit are training women to sew sturdy cotton designer bags. The project is gaining momentum slowly but surely. Corporate and NGO orders are coming in to keep the women busy at our Centre. Our recent addition is the Ikat tie and dye fabric bags that look stylish and trendy.
