WEP baby quilt project We’re a NGO of creators and dreamers

a sisterhood of empowered women who have stood together, grown strong, and learned that if you tune out all the noise, listen to your inner voice and get out of your own way, you can create fearlessly. September and October saw the baby quilt making project take off by teacher Shameera and designer blouse cutting and sewing by Malleshwari. Through this venture Sackhumvit Trust will take a leap and we are hopeful to further enhance the skills of underprivileged women from our neighborhood community .We used old fabric and sarees to turn them into bright and colorful creations. Not only that, each woman has developed her own unique style of creating story quilts, using embroidery stitches and sometimes cut and sew work, to give it a different look. They made various sizes, helped and consulted one another and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. "It was very encouraging to see the self-made quilts being an essential part of households” said Shameera. Yet another community project successfully completed.
